A:] If you have an AT&T phone, only AT&T can unlock it for you, so call AT&T.
Basically you call the company the phone is made for.

Q:] (Example) I bought an AT&T phone but I have T-mobile service and I want to keep T-mobile. I do not have AT&T service. How do I unlock my phone, because I know that only AT&T can unlock an AT&T phone?

A:]
FACTS:
- you have an AT&T locked phone
- you do not have AT&T service

PROBLEM (DILEMMA):
The problem here is that AT&T still is the only one who can unlock your phone, but they will not unlock your phone if you do not have AT&T service.

SOLUTION:
1) Basically you need to find a friend who has AT&T (or whatever company the phone is made for).
2) Then you ask them to put their sim in your phone.
3) Then you ask them to unlock your phone which has their sim card in it with AT&T.
4) They have to be the one to call since it is their cell phone service.
5) Have them follow the instructions in this video.
7) Take their sim card out of your phone once they have unlocked it
8) Put your sim card back in your phone
9) Congratulations! You have successfully unlocked your phone. P.S. to do this you need to have friends.

A:] You are a LIAR and are a SCAMMER (a "phone unlocker" scam-artist) and you made that negative comment to try to keep people from unlocking their phone for free so you can STEAL THEIR MONEY by selling them unlock codes or other snake oil. Get a life and stop scamming people and make some honest money for once.

NOTE: dumb comments like "it didn't work" or "I broke my phone thanks a lot" are written by scammers who want to steal your money by unlocking your phone for money, when you can really unlock your phone for free.

FYI people who are running the scam of "phone unlocking" (a.k.a. "unlockers") hate me because I am showing you the free way to unlock your phone instead of letting them rip you off, because it is truly free to unlock your phone.

Since this isn't just some "method" or some BS the unlockers [scammers] want you to believe so they can rip you off your hard-earned money (this video just tells you what to do because unlocking is free, you just need to know what to do), the reality is simply this:

All negative comments are written by people who are actually business owners of "phone unlocking" companies, which are essentially SCAMS, since it is actually FREE to unlock your phone.

How to enable internet and MMS on the iPhone 3.1.2 with the carrier T-mobile.

this is the only method that has worked for me in order to enable MMS on the iPhone with Tmobile; however for the internet you can use : epc.tmobile.com and it should work as well, but for MMS you should get the information in my video.

Simple Mobile iPhone 4 iOS 4 MMS and internet fix

to make a long story short I'd had my old 19.99 sidekick plan and sim in my iphone....as of August 2009 T-mobile is cracking down on this and disabling the service to get us all to purchase the 35 buck data plan. DON'T DO IT!!!!!

Get: MMS on T-Mobile iPhone 3G s (3.1.2) 100% Works! Easiest!

I've tried a dozen different settings and none of them worked, so i investigated to the core to find the correct settings! Hope they help!

Step 1:Must be jailbroken on 3.1.2 fimware, Open Cydia

Step 2: Search for Legacy

Step 3: Select TMobile US (the 1st option)

Step 4: Once installed Reset Network Settings (Settings- General- Reset- Reset network settings)

Step 5: Input Internet & MMS Settings.

Internet: Settings-General-Network-Data roaming set to on-Go to cellular data network- APN= epc.tmobile.com wap.voicestream.com

MMS: Settings- General-Network- Go to cellular data network- Go to MMS apn and type wap.voicestream.com

MMSC is 216.155.174.84/servlets/mms proxy is 216.155.165.50:8080

Step 6: Hit the home button and then RESTART your iPhone

Step 7: Test MMS. it should work now.
Enjoy MMS! and don't be SEXTING!!!!

This works on T-Mobile's Network only

Add these to MMS Settings in: Settings-General-Network-Cellular Data Network

Add this in MMS field:
APN: wap.voicestream.com
Username: leave blank
Password: leave blank
MMSC: 216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.50:8080
MMS Max Message Size: leave blank
MMS UA Prof URL: leave blank

Then reboot your iPhone.
Then the picture icon will show up in the Messages App.

This allows you to send pictures, video and audio messages for the same price as a text.
There is no additional charge for MMS on T-Mobile's Network. Same price as sending a text.

How To Configure T-Mobile EDGE Internet for iPhone

How to enable T-Mobile Internet on an unlocked iPhone, iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS.
First you will need to add a data plan to your T-Mobile account. You can add T-Zones T-Mobile Web for $5.99 (this package is no longer available to add to new plans, it must've been added before). You can also one of the other data plans that T-Mobile offers.

Add these settings in Cellular Data Network in the APN field: wap.voicestream.com
or
internet2.voicestream.com
or
epc.tmobile.com

Leave username and password blank.

Unlocking the iPhone 3GS for Dummies

If I figured out how to jailbreak & unlock my iPhone 3GS then anyone can. I'd been doing research and it seemed a few others had been able to do it so I decided to open up my 3GS and give it a go!

[[the following directions jailbreak the phone using purplera1n]]

1. Get on a Windows PC (XP seems to have fewer issues than Vista)
2. Make sure iTunes is updated. Tun off auto updates.
3. Go to http://www.purplera1n.com/
4. Download and run purplera1n (should say "waiting for phone")
5. Connect iPhone 3GS to computer.
6. Be patient - puplera1n takes a couple of minutes (should say "entering recovery" then "done, wait for reboot")
7. Phone reboots - you see image of purplera1n
8. Make sure your wi-fi is connected
9. Run Freeze application to install Cydia
10. Download Cydia
11. Reboot

[[the following directions unlock the phone using ultrasn0w]]

12. Disable 3G network in (Settings, General, Network) so T-Mobile can run smoothly
13. Go to Cydia: Manage, Sources, Edit and type in repo666.ultrasn0w.com (the o is a zero in sn0w)
14. Go to Cydia: Changes, and install ultrasn0w
15. Reboot
16. Use paperclip to remove sim card, replace with your own
17. Voila! You are now on the network of your choice! :)
