Here are the steps for setting up your iPhone for T-Mobiles Internet service for T-Mobile USA

Internet Settings:
1. APN: wap.voicestream.com

MMS (Picture Messaging):
MMS APN: wap.voicestream.com
Username: [Leave blank]
Password: [Leave blank]
MMSC: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
Proxy: 216.155.165.050:8080

These are true working settings , tested and given to me directly. Make sure Data roaming is on and 3g is turned to off.

How To Configure T-Mobile EDGE Internet for iPhone

How to enable T-Mobile Internet on an unlocked iPhone, iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS.
First you will need to add a data plan to your T-Mobile account. You can add T-Zones T-Mobile Web for $5.99 (this package is no longer available to add to new plans, it must've been added before). You can also one of the other data plans that T-Mobile offers.

Add these settings in Cellular Data Network in the APN field: wap.voicestream.com
or
internet2.voicestream.com
or
epc.tmobile.com

Leave username and password blank.

This video shows you how to use Google Voice App for Jailbroken iPhones to make and receive free calls. This app has been rejected and removed from the app store by Apple. Things you must have before you can use Google Voice on your iPhone.

1- Google Voice account. Go to http://www.google.com/googlevoice/about.html and click on the Get An Invite link and enter name and email. Wait till google sends you an invite. (invite time varies from days to weeks)
2- Jailbroken iPhone on 3.0 (2G,3G,3GS)
3- Search and Install GV Mobile via Cydia.

Free internet for your t-mobile iphone! MAYBE blackberry

Unlocking the iPhone 3GS for Dummies

If I figured out how to jailbreak & unlock my iPhone 3GS then anyone can. I'd been doing research and it seemed a few others had been able to do it so I decided to open up my 3GS and give it a go!

[[the following directions jailbreak the phone using purplera1n]]

1. Get on a Windows PC (XP seems to have fewer issues than Vista)
2. Make sure iTunes is updated. Tun off auto updates.
3. Go to http://www.purplera1n.com/
4. Download and run purplera1n (should say "waiting for phone")
5. Connect iPhone 3GS to computer.
6. Be patient - puplera1n takes a couple of minutes (should say "entering recovery" then "done, wait for reboot")
7. Phone reboots - you see image of purplera1n
8. Make sure your wi-fi is connected
9. Run Freeze application to install Cydia
10. Download Cydia
11. Reboot

[[the following directions unlock the phone using ultrasn0w]]

12. Disable 3G network in (Settings, General, Network) so T-Mobile can run smoothly
13. Go to Cydia: Manage, Sources, Edit and type in repo666.ultrasn0w.com (the o is a zero in sn0w)
14. Go to Cydia: Changes, and install ultrasn0w
15. Reboot
16. Use paperclip to remove sim card, replace with your own
17. Voila! You are now on the network of your choice! :)

Today, CultOfMac reported that T-Mobile and Apple have been in discussions for an iPhone 4 to be released to T-Mobile USA in Q3 Fall this year.

Talks between Apple and T-Mobile have been reported to be at an advanced stage, and such an advanced stage that there's a 80 percent likely chance that the iPhone will be coming to T-Mobile in Q3.

The source that reported to them this information "works at T-Mobile but asked not to be quoted directly and to remain anonymous because they aren't authorized to talk to the press."

Iphone 4 'No Sim Installed' Fix For T-mobile 4.1 4.2 Jailbreak and Unlock read the description

This video shows you the way I fixed this problem on my iphone 4, i hope it helps.
When you're facing the metal part of the already cut micro sim, the right edge of the metal is very important, and you have to be able to see it when its in its little drawer. If the right edge of the metal is covered, you will most likely have this problem, of your iPhone 4 not recognizing that you have the Sim installed, even after you unlocked with ultrasn0w. In this case, you must cut the left edge of the metal/sim card so you have more space on the left side of the drawer, so you can expose the right edge of the metal part. Its more difficult to explain, than it is to do. Only advice is to cut very little part at the time, until you expose the right edge. GoodLuck everyone.

If you need to unlock your iPhone and you're not on 4.1 or 4.2 already, go download tinyumbrella and update your firmware trough it (you'll have to google the very easy instructions on how to do that), it will help you keep your baseband to 1.59.00, if you update your firmware without it, it will update your baseband and so far there isnt a way of downgrading, and that might mean that you will not be able to unlock your iPhone, may be forever! so be careful.
